DJ JanderVK- Pagan DJ
DJ JanderVK has been DJing since 2001. He has DJed and organized clubs, festivals, and radio broadcasts. Although he spins diverse genres of music, he is known for spinning Neo-Medieval/”Mittelalter”, Neo-Folk, and Neo-Classical music. A lot of which are Pagan oriented musicians. Said genres are quite popular in Europe’s Pagan and Renaissance/Medieval Faire communities, though there is a budding scene full of musicians and fans here in the States. DJ JanderVK has pulled in Pagan Folk bands from as far away as New York (Gypsy Nomads) and Sweden (The Hildegards). He is excited and honoured to introduce this very special and unique style of music to Chicago Pagan Pride 2010.

Chicago Pagan Pride 2010

Johnny Rapture- "The Origin of Witchcraft"
The history of Witchcraft is shrouded in mystery. If you're interested in modern Witchcraft, or simply an ancient history buff, then this workshop is for you! By examining ancient literary sources like the Odyssey as well as the reputations of the two most famous ancient Witches, Circe and Medea, we'll explore one of the frequently forgotten aspects of Witchcraft: It's beginning in ancient Greek religion.

George Marshall- Spirits of Place
Come and play with the land and the spirits that reside within it as we learn together about the different spirits existing all around us and how we can best work with them. Among the topics of discussion with be techniques for natural spirit communication, proper methods and tools for offerings, and the different signs that they leave us to announce their presence.

Mark Mandrake- Intro to Alchemy
Although hundreds of years old, the ancient wisdom of Alchemy teaches as much as other esoteric tools such as Astrology, Tarot, or Kabbalah. Modern Alchemy is the spiritual process of transforming the "lead" of our souls into their purest form of "gold" so our lives are transformed to the highest human potential. This workshop teaches the 7 Steps of Alchemy in a modern context, and uses meditation, art, and energy work to teach accessible tools that can be used in ritual and daily practice.
A tarot reader, chakra healer, and channeler, Mark believes in marrying the metaphysical, magical, and the mundane for mind, body, and spiritual health. He teaches classes using magic as a tool for personal growth and on spiritual leadership and community building. He has served the Pagan community as leader of a CUUPS group, High Priest of several covens, and as a community builder serving Pagans of all ages and Paths in Chicago. He is passionate for how we each can, through the alchemical process, turn our spiritual lead into gold as individuals and as a community.

Shauna Aura-Raising the Sacred Fire: Building and Moving Energy in Ritual
Would you like to learn how to build, move, and transform energy? Learning to facilitate effective ritual can be frustrating. This workshop offers tools to work with ecstatic energy through presentations, discussions, and hands-on practice. Experienced ritualists will learn tools to facilitate more potent rituals and discussing what works and why. New ritualists will learn foundations of ritual work. Join us to harness the fire of life-force and explore: ritual components and energetic flow, intention, strengthening presence and charisma, and engaging participation with chanting, movement, rhythm, and group connection.
Shauna has taught leadership, community building, and ritual arts throughout the Midwest. She's an Earth-centered spirituality community leader in Chicago, and her organization, Ringing Anvil, offers an intensive educational program in the transformative arts of community leadership, ritual, and spiritual growth.
With 12 years experience as an artist, writer, designer, and marketing strategist, she has organized conferences, themed events, and created rituals, shrines, and art installations. She is a graduate of the Diana's Grove leadership and ritual arts program and the Chicago C3 leadership program in environmental sustainability. Her articles have been published in Circle Magazine, Reclaiming Quarterly, Between the Worlds, Isis Seshat, and other local publications. Shauna is inspired by mythic imagination, awakening the vision of the impossible, the pulse of ecstatic drumming, and the song of a healthy, sustainable community

Stan Modryzk- Constructing & Conducting Group Rituals
What you need know and remember to work rituals with groups of 10 or more people.

Sherry Gilles- Mandelas

Phyllis Steinhauser- Asatru 101
What's a Heathen?": Asatru 101
Interested in the Runes? Did you like the movie Beowulf or The Thirteenth Warrior? Then join us for a discussion of the culture and religious practices of the ancient Norse (AKA the Vikings)! Heathenry is a reconstruction of the faith practiced by the ancient peoples of Scandinavia, Iceland, The British Isles and parts of continental Europe. The modern reconstruction of that faith is based on the historical record of Pre-Christian practices of those peoples.
Discussion Outline
1) The Well and the Tree - Norse Cosmology
2) The Shining Ones - Gods, Jotuns and Other Beings
3) The Lore - Sagas, Eddas and The Runes
4) The Practice - Modern Heathen Ethics and Culture
4) The Faith - Galdr, Seidth, Blot & Sumble
5) Q&A - Would You Know More?

Jory Brown Lucid Dreams
A lucid dream occurs during sleep, when you realize that you are dreaming. With practice, you can induce lucid dreams, and gain a measure of control over your dreams. . It is beyond description the feeling you get once you become lucid within a dream and realize that you are immersed in a full-blown, interactive dreamscape. Anything you can do while awake you can do in a lucid dream. There are also many things you can do that you cannot do in the waking world like flying, taking a free one night vacation to anywhere on Earth, or even perhaps another world. You have greater access to your subconscious, and can search for answers and inspiration for daily challenges, or nourish your creative nature. Explore amazing dreamscapes, encounter dream figures (also known as guides), who often have marvelous insight and sage-like advice. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination, literally. Jory will offer you tools and tips to help you get started with this fascinating subject.
