As we celebrate our ninth year, here are some of your Pride event questions answered:

Q: You have new hours! What can I expect?

A: Our Oak Park Location wound up being so sucessful last year that we wanted to hold it there again. We have changed the hours for a later start to give vendors more time to set up and everyone more time to arrive at the event.

PLEASE NOTE: As this is a historical site, there is NO SMOKING INSIDE Pleasant Home AT ALL. You can however step outside of the gates and smoke.

Q: What is parking like around Home Avenue?

A: There is alot of available street parking, not only around the entire block, but also one-half
block away.

Q: What about transportation by train and bus?

A: Our new address at 217 Home Avenue is one-half block from the Harlem and Lake intersections.

Q: What about the new hours?

A: Yes, our new hours will be from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This provides vendors more time for setting up and take down. We will still have workshops and plenty of activities.

Q: Is the building wheelchair accessible?

A: Most definately, yes! We suggest that those who require assistance with walking or wheelchairs to please enter by the WEST ENTRANCE.

Q: Is there an admission charge for this event?

A: Yes, there is an admission charge of canned food goods for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. There are several food stores in the immediate area where you can make your purchase.

Q: Are there any restrictions regarding this Pride event?

A: Alcoholic beverages, smoking, animals/pets, illegal substances, weapons, or *adult content* items ARE NOT ALLOWED onto the premises. Please remember, this is a family-friendly event, so everyone is asked to use good judgement regarding their attire and behavior during this event. Security will be on hand for your assistance.

Q: Are there restrooms?

A: Yes, there are two clean, modern, indoor restrooms located inside the Pleasant Home.

Q: What should I do when I arrive at the event?

A: Please register at the Welcoming Table, located directly in front of the Pleasant Home. You must register to attend workshops and be eligible to win the Raffle Prizes. All children must be registered in order to participate in the children's activities.

Q: What's this I hear about Raffle prizes?

A: This year we will be giving away a free ticket for the raffle prizes when you check in at the the registration desk. Additional tickets may be purchased at the registration desk. We will also be holding a silent auction this year instead of a live auction.

Q: How do I know what there is to do and see?

A: Our Pride event offers many activities and vendors for your enjoyment. Please check out the 2010 PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES on the website several weeks before the event. Also, there will be a printed progam available at the Welcoming table, when you register.

Q: Will there be a photographer?

A: This is a "Camera-Friendly" event. There will be an event photographer taking pictures for
possible publication on our website. If you do not wish to be photographed, please avoid the camera. Also last year we had photographers from the media there. Our event was covered in 2 local Newspapers.

Q: Are the canned food donations just for people, can I bring some donations for the animals?

A: The canned food donations are *just for people*. Unfortunately the pet shelter does not have the resources to be on premisis and accept donations and the food pantry is unable to accept pet donations. You may contribute an additional monetary donation to go to the pet shelter if you would like. Money raised from our Silent auction and raffle, plus any cash donations received will go benefit our other charities.

Please check back often for more updates!
